In the past, there have been resided prominent personalities as members of the presidential Roosvelt dynasty, Josephine Baker, Maharajah of Patiala, Thomas Cardeza- one of the richest passenger on the Titanic, Queen Geraldine of Albania and many others.

Do you know its famous historic library?

The unique library, one of the largest in Hungary, was established by Count Anton Juraj Apponyi in the mid-18th century. This nobleman had collected about 25,000 pieces.  The most precious are printing from the 16th century, as the works of Socrates in the Swiss Basel from 1508, or private correspondence of French kings, cardinals Richelieu and Mazarin, the history of the controversial Italian family Borgias and so on.

It’s called  „Slovak Oxford“ Library.


So it is one of the way to see „Oxford Library“ in Slovakia.

You must visit it, you won´t regret it.
